The wavelength that my group investigated was 810 nm. The equation for the best-fit line that was drawn for my data came out to be y = 11.211x ââ¬â 0.0056. The value of Epsilon that corresponded to my data was 11.708. The sixteen points that correlates to my data all seem to rise pretty steadily as the concentration increases expect for the three pre-made solutions which seem to flatten out at an absorbance reading of three. Points one through eleven are on the line of best fit. Points twelve and thirteen are above the line of best fit. Points fourteen through sixteen are below the line of best fit. The working range for the graph, absorbance vs. concentration, is from .01 M to .1998 M. The wavelength that gave the highest epsilon came out to be 810 nm. The wavelength compared to the max wavelength is the exact same number. In part D, Pathway; the color intensity does change when you view the vials form the two different axes. When you view all the vials on an X axis there does not seem to be any differences between the different amounts of CuSO4 in the fact that they all look like the same shade of blue. But as you look at all the vials form a Y axis point of view you can see the difference between each of the vials. You see that the vial with the least amount of CuSO4, 2 mL, is the lightest shade of blue and the shade of blue darks as the amount of CuSO4 increases to 5 mL. I believe this is because the more mL of CuSO4 in each vial the less amount of light can pass, therefore making the shade of blue darker. I came to the conclusion that the CuSO4 get lighter to darker as the amount of CuSO4 goes from 2 mL to 5 mL. If pathlenght (b) was .50 cm than the absorbance would decrease by almost half of what it was, .120cm rather than .204 cm. This is because you are cutting the pat length in half. This means that the light has to travel a shorter distance making the absorbance appear lower. Based on the results from the color wheel worksheet I would expect the green color with a wavelength between 490 ââ¬â 560 nm to be the maximum absorbance for the res solution. I believe this to be true because red and green are complementary colors and this means that the green is absorbing the wavelength that the red color is giving off.

Kilauea is located on one of these islands, the central Hawaii island. Kilauea is one of the worlds most active volcanic craters. Craters are formed either by the massive collapse of material during volcanic activity, by unusually violent explosions, or later by erosion during dormancy (Comptons). It is situated on the southeastern slope of the great volcanic mountain Mauna Loa. Its elevation is 1111 m (3646 ft.) above sea level. The crater has an area of about 10 sq. km., which forms a great cavity in the side of the mountain. Volcanic activity recently has been restricted to an inner crater called Halemaumau. Halemaumau measures more than 900 m (about 3000 ft.) across and has a depth of about 400 m (about 1300 ft.). Kilauea has erupted at least once a year since 1952. The volcano spews an average of 525,000 cubic yards of lava a day and by 1995 had added about 500 acres of new land to the island (Encarta 98). By June 1989, it had destroyed the visitors center at the national park, a stretch of Kalapana Highway, and more than 65 houses by 1990. Kilauea is located on a hot spot under the island, and the magma is thought to come from a depth of at least 50 km. below the surface. A hot spot is an area of volcanic activity near the center of two lithospeheric plates. Normally, lava streams constantly into the floor of the crater from subterranean sources which either cools and hardens, or accumulates until it drains off into other subterranean passages. When greater volcanic activity occurs, the lava is subjected to sudden changes of level, where it may escape from vents on the lower slope toward the sea. Kilauea is classified as a shield volcano. Shield volcanoes have a low, broad profile created by highly fluid basalt flows that spread over wide areas. The fluid basalt usually only builds a cone around seven degrees steep. Over thousands of years though, these cones can reach massive size, which is shown in the Hawaiian Island volcanoes. The Hawaiian Islands are composed of shield volcanoes, that have been built up from the sea floor. If measured from sea floor level, some of the Hawaiian volcanoes are the worlds largest mountains in terms of both height and volume (Comptons). In the 20th century, major flows occurred in 1920 and 1921, 1950, 1955, 1959, 1965, and 1969. The current eruption cycle, the longest-running in modern Hawaiian history, began on January 3, 1983 (Encarta).

More than 86 percent of the school shooting has been linked to the past improper treatment and bullying of the students. Furthermore, 10 percent of school droppings take place due to bullying (Rigby, pp. 21-22). Suicide rates amongst children under the ages of 14 are low but over the past couple of decades, they have been rising up. There is enough evidence to link these suicides with bullying of children (Barclay & Butler, pp. 6-10; Mattern, pp. 165-167; Rooney, pp. 171). The above-mentioned paragraph is just a glance at the statistics related to bullying of children and without any doubts; it does not paint a desirable picture. Over the years, bullying has become a common phenomenon in schools and our societies, communities and neighborhoods (Macfarlane & McPherson, pp. 85-89). Parents, schools, NGOs and others have played their part in trying to prevent bullying; however, it is time for the federal government to intervene for solution of this problem. Therefore, the major agenda of the paper could be defined as ââ¬Å"Rather than becoming a silent bystander to bullying, it is the moral and legal responsibility of the federal government to intervene by making laws that could prevent bullying so that our children, who are the future of the country, could be saved from catastrophic results.â⬠According to its definition, bullying refers to the aggressive behavior with which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes the ââ¬Å"targetâ⬠, pain, and discomfort. Bullying can be emotional, physical, or verbal. ââ¬Å"Targetsâ⬠or the subjects of bullying may face the same based on their race, sexual orientation, disability, personality, religion, gender, intelligence and others (Fort & Stevens, pp. 230-231).
